Ravi Ranjan has credit to his all higher qualifications B.A. (Hons.) Pol. Sc., M.A. (Pol. Sc.) from Delhi University and M.Phil. from J.N.U. Presently, he is an Assist. Professor at Govt. K.R.G. College Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He possesses a prolong experience of teaching and research works pertaining of Indian Government and Politics in current perspective. He is a prolific Writer and Editor and has attended many national and international conferences and seminars.

About The Book

The social problems in India today have their roots in the diversity of religion, language, region, culture and caste. Attachment to one's region, language, religion is a natural sentiment but when these attachments grow to an extreme level to breed intolerance for other religions, regions or languages, problems are bound to rise. The nature of social problems of modern India are deeply rooted in the changes occurred in the society during the last two hundred years. For a longtime very few knew about the problems of Indian society. The processes of westernisation, industrialisation, formal education, commercialisation and modernisation have contributed towards the emergence of new situations which are incompatible with the traditional ways of living. Indian social orderis gradually transforming itself from folk to secular. Social Problems in India has established itself as a leading book in the field of sociology.
