About The Book

The Handbook of Hospital Management serves as an indispensable, powerhouse guide that bridges the critical gap between clinical medical care and complex institutional business operations. Modern healthcare is a high-stakes ecosystem where clinical excellence cannot survive without robust administrative structure. This handbook functions as a master blueprint for current and aspiring healthcare leaders, deconstructing the day-to-day realities of running safe, efficient, and financially resilient medical institutions. It tackles head-on the severe pressures of resource scarcity, rising patient expectations, and rapid technological integration. The book details the architecture of standard hospital departments—from front-office patient-centric intake and emergency triage to floor nursing, specialized surgical units, and safe patient discharge protocols. It provides granular insights into non-clinical yet vital lifelines, including housekeeping procedures, laundry management, biomedical waste handling, and rigorous infection-control hygiene. It navigates healthcare economics, covering budgeting, cost-control mechanisms, billing systems, and the complexities of health insurance integrations. The text addresses high-reliability safety codes, emergency fire management, facility security, and proactive risk management to protect both patients and staff. Ultimately, this handbook redefines a hospital not merely as a place of healing, but as a disciplined organization requiring precision leadership. It transforms chaotic medical environments into streamlined, transparent, and humane systems of care.
