Author Profile

Luca Romano is an acclaimed environmental chemist, sustainability strategist, and leading voice in the global shift toward green technologies. Holding a Ph.D. in Sustainable Chemistry from the University of Bologna and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, he has dedicated over two decades to pioneering eco-friendly chemical processes that bridge the gap between industrial efficiency and environmental preservation. In Handbook of Green Chemistry For A Sustainable Environment, Dr. Romano synthesizes his extensive academic research and hands-on industrial consulting experience into a definitive blueprint for the future. His work focuses on minimizing hazardous waste, optimizing renewable feedstocks, and designing closed-loop chemical lifecycles. Currently serving as a senior advisor to international environmental agencies and a guest lecturer at top-tier universities, Dr. Romano's pragmatic approach empowers scientists, engineers, and policymakers alike to transform molecular science into actionable, planet-positive solutions.

About The Book

The chemical industry built the modern world, but it often left a heavy trail of toxic waste and pollution behind. This landmark handbook challenges that destructive tradition. This book offers practical and innovative solutions. It proves that chemistry can protect human health and the planet without losing industrial power. Handbook of Green Chemistry For A Sustainable Environment explores homogeneous, heterogeneous, and biocatalysis. Catalysts speed up reactions cleanly. They reduce energy use and cut down toxic waste. Focuses on safe alternatives like supercritical fluids, reactions in water, and ionic liquids. These options replace dangerous, volatile organic solvents that pollute the air. Details green synthesis, green nanoscience, and designing safer chemicals. It teaches how to build products that degrade safely after use instead of lasting forever in nature.
