Author Profile

Roger Diaz is a distinguished aviation expert, academic, and global strategist whose career spans over two decades at the intersection of international transport economics and global tourism policy. His comprehensive background provides the authoritative backbone for Civil Aviation and Tourism Administration, a seminal text designed to bridge the gap between airspace management and destinations infrastructure. Roger’s insights are built on a rigorous academic foundation. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Aviation Management and Sustainability from a top-tier aerospace university, complemented by an Executive MBA specializing in Global Hospitality and Tourism. He is a certified member of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) advisory networks and holds advanced credentials in Airport Strategic Management from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Throughout his career, Roger has served as a senior consultant for national ministries of transport and international tourism boards. His work has successfully guided emerging and developed markets through the complexities of: Airspace Liberalization: Crafting regulatory frameworks that balance open-skies policies with national economic sovereignty; Sustainable Infrastructure: Developing blueprint strategies for eco-efficient airport hubs that enhance regional tourism without compromising environmental mandates; Crisis Management & Resilience: Designing operational recovery protocols for the aviation-tourism ecosystem in the wake of global disruptions. In Civil Aviation and Tourism Administration, Roger Diaz synthesizes years of field research, policy drafting, and boardroom negotiations into an actionable, forward-looking guide. Rather than treating transport and tourism as separate industries, he presents them as an inseparable, symbiotic ecosystem. His writing combines sharp regulatory precision with a visionary outlook on the future of global mobility. This makes the book an indispensable resource for policymakers, airline executives, tourism strategists, and academic institutions worldwide.

About The Book

Civil Aviation and Tourism Administration stands as a definitive, authoritative cornerstone in the study of how modern air travel and global leisure economies intersect. This seminal book offers an exhaustive, multi-dimensional analysis of the administrative frameworks, aeropolitical landscape, and operational strategic networks that keep the world moving. Seamlessly blending high-level economic policy with real-world managerial execution, it serves as an indispensable blueprint for policymakers, industry executives, public administrators, and advanced scholars seeking to navigate the dual engines of global economic growth. At its core, the text treats civil aviation and tourism not as isolated sectors, but as an intrinsically coupled, symbiotic ecosystem. It establishes that while air transport expands destination accessibility and dramatically alters the spatial geography of travel, the shifting dynamics of global tourism demand actively reshape airline network design, infrastructure spending, and government regulatory agendas. The book dissects the complex destination-airport-airline nexus, offering readers an end-to-end framework for understanding how decisions made in a state regulatory board or civil aviation authority ripple out to impact local hospitality markets, regional employment, and gross domestic product (GDP). What sets Civil Aviation and Tourism Administration apart is its highly practical, case-study-driven approach. It anchors complex microeconomic and geographical concepts in major global events, structural milestones (such as the privatization waves of national carriers and airports), and post-crisis strategies. Rather than operating purely in theory, the text presents comprehensive data on passenger loads, revenue generation models, and environmental sustainability mandates, forcing the reader to weigh economic development against carbon neutrality objectives.
