Korey Maximilian Davis PhD, is a clinical health psychologist and Professor of Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University. Considered one of the nation's foremost experts on hope, his work addresses how hopefulness is connected to finding meaning and experiencing resilience in the face of life-limiting medical illness, trauma, and other highly stressful circumstances. He is the principal developer of a single-session hope-enhancement intervention known as the "Hope Workshop," which was particularly designed for undergraduate students but has now been used for a variety of populations, including individuals with cancer and medical providers facing burnout. In addition, he is the developer of the only published psychosocial treatment model for PTSD in patients with life-limiting and terminal illnesses, Stepwise Psychosocial Palliative Care (SPPC). His research has been published in top scientific journals and recognized in popular publications, including Time, Harvard Business Review, 'O': The Oprah Magazine, and Self. He teaches courses in cognitive-behavioural therapy, evidence-based psychotherapies, personality theory, and grief, loss, and trauma.
